Guiuseppe Ratti, photographer and owner of Berry Opticians, started in Turin in 1917 an adventure destined for international success. In a small courtyard in Vía Caboto, he began manufacturing technologically advanced sunglasses, designed to meet the demands of the drivers and sports drivers, who needed comfort, protection and optimal vision. Their models evolved until the Persol brand was created at the end of 1930 (the word Persol comes from “for il sole”, which means “for the sun”, with which the protective function of the glasses against the sun’s rays stands out). ), over almost 100 years, numerous models have been created, some of which, thanks to their unmistakable design, have been consolidated in the collective imagination as legendary products.
One of its most unmistakable features is its arrow-shaped hinge, inspired by the swords of the ancient warriors, so typical in its sideburns and its mineral sunglasses, of great protection and optical quality.
